Art Wednesday: Light Edition
So we are going a little light with the art today:
First up we have Martin Beckett, I cam across his work right around the same time I found the superhero stuff last week, but it just didn’t fit nicely so I have been holding off on posting it. Beckett is a UK photographer with some decent stuff, but the stuff to really check out are his 360 degree panoramas. The rest of the stuff is nice, but nothing too outstanding.
Following up Beckett we have more of an art related post then actual art (though, looking at the images that is debatable): Crayola Crayons*.
ColorLovers has a list of all the 120 Crayola names and their HEX and RGB equivalents and coding, plus a bunch of ‘Fun Facts’ about the colors and crayons in general (maybe I like this one because we spent two and a half hours at a tavern on Sunday eating lunch and coloring on the butcher paper on the table with the provided crayons. Also just a nice collection of crayon pictures (or rather pictures of crayons).
Last, but not least (and I found this one through ZoomDoggle),
WebUrbanists has a post filled with Post-It Notes, sculptures, art work, a couple of videos. Some impressive stuff (I like the Donkey Kong building) some kind of ho-hum (like covering an office in Post-its… just seems like a waste to me), but in general fun to check out, especially if you’ve got a few minutes to kill. I recommend the video of the Calvin and Hobbes ‘mosaic,’ it gives you a real sense of the amount of time it takes to put some of these things together.
*Thanks Amy
