Signs of Impending Doom

Kind of questionable where to start on this one, but if you have been following some NY news recently things seem to be getting a little out of hand. Let’s just jump right in and you can sort it out.

Sign #1: David Tarloff, accused of hacking a therapist to death with a meat cleaver, is apparently off his meds and claiming to be the messiah.

His family is asking that he be transfered from Riker’s Island back to Bellevue Hospital for psychiatric care. Personally I want to know if he was on or off his meds while wielding the clever.

Of course, even if he is transfered to Bellevue, what therapist there is going to want to treat him? (more here).

That is from Staten Island, moving on to Queens:

Sign #2: Felipe Velasquez was arrested yesterday for first attacking an Orthodox Jewish man with a machete, slashing him in the head as the man existed the J train.

As if this wasn’t bad enough, Velasquez took to the roofs and then, as the police and ambulances came to respond, he started firebombing the police with molotov cocktails.

Although a police car caught fire, the article reports that “no one was hurt.” I assume they mean no one other then the guy who got a machete to the head. (More on that here and here).

Finally from Queens we move to Brooklyn.

Sign #3: Swastikas found painted in Williamsburg in a predominantly Jewish neighborhood.

Despite that being “attack” number two on members of the Jewish community in New York, it is kind of an add-on to an incident from last week when other swastikas were found painted on a house and various cars in the same neighborhood. Seriously, what is wrong with people? (More on that here).
