Spitzer Screws Hillary Clinton

Hillary Clinton is once again hurt by a high-profile sex scandal.

Spitzer Screws ClintonThanks to Eliot Spitzer’s (aka Client 9) rendezvous with a petite, brunette, American woman-of-the-night named “Kristen,” in a Washington D.C. hotel room, his resignation from office is eminent. Sources tell the Associated Press an official resignation announcement will come today (March 12) at 11:30 am EST.

Once Spitzer steps down, he will be replaced by his Lieutenant Governor David Paterson. David Paterson’s post will then be filled by the president of the New York State Senate Joseph Bruno. Bruno is a Republican and is not a fan of Spitzer (to say the least) (Bruno was to be steamrolled by our philandering governor).

So what does all of this have to do with Hillary?

As governor of the State of New York, Spitzer was one of those Democratic Super Delegates we hear so much about. Not only that, but he also took a shine to Hillary and promised he pull the lever for her at the Democratic National Convention. Also pledging support was David Patterson, another superdelegate. In a race as close as Hillary and Obama are currently running, every superdelegate counts.

With the loss of Spitzer, and the elevation of Patterson, now, she has one less pledged superdelegate in her column. A Republican will assume the Lt. Governor’s seat, thus removing one democrat superdelegate from the mix (a big thanks to Joel Friedlander in pointing out my lack of continuity in my original post).

Sorry Hillary. But look at the bright side, at least Bill wasn’t dumb enough to pay for his cheating.

  1. David Patterson will put himself in Hillary’s column as a delegate when the vote comes. Hillary Clinton is the Junior Senator from the State of New York and she will get the governors vote no matter who the governor is.

  2. Yes she will and I realize a major flaw in my story. She will still have the govenor’s vote, but she will lose the Lt. Governor’s vote. David Patterson’s post will be filled by a Republican.

  3. I thought Republicans loved voting for Hillary in the primaries.
