Typical Interview Questions

Posted by Matt Cipriano | 1 Comment

Have you ever gone on a job interview and just felt totally unprepared? Or been asked the most random and bizarre questions?

Well, now there is a site that allows you to “Share Your Interview Questions & Answers” as well as ask questions and get answers to them or search through questions and answers already provided. InterviewUp is a site that allows you to do all of this. Conceptually it is a really nice idea. Folks sharing their experience with others and helping out others who might be in a tough spot, the whole idea of a nice, working community. In actuality I have my doubts about how effective a website this is.

First off, it depends on users to submit both questions and answers, my guess is you will primarily hear from people who have done poorly on interviews and are looking for advice, those who have done well might not be as inclined to share their experience. This brings me to my next point: who knows who is supplying answers. I could locate questions pertaining to jobs I am interested in and post totally bogus answers in order to throw off any competitors who might be looking to apply to a similar position.

Some of the more general questions are helpful (especially when they have more then 1 or 2 answers), but the main problem I foresee with this site is that users will be transient, passing in and out, only when they are looking for jobs and not supplying any further information once they have gotten them.
