Safety First

Too often folks who inject lots of drugs are written off completely. Sharing needles is a massive problems that leads to all sorts of diseases being passed including AIDS. This brings us to Exchange Supplies:

Exchange Supplies is a social enterprise set up by drug workers to supply drug services and needle exchanges with quality products, publications, and conferences and to provide employment and training opportunities for drug users.
We are at the forefront of the harm reduction response to illicit drug use, and are committed to preventing blood-borne virus transmission, drug related deaths, and improving the health of drug users.

Kind of a noble enterprise. One of the more eye-catching projects that they have worked on is the “NeverShare Syringe.” The NeverShare Syringe is a new syringe made specifically for Exchange Supplies with different colored plungers (so as to differentiate between whose syringe is whose), the NeverShare logo (to serve as a reminder to never share syringes) a smaller needle (to minimize vein damage) and markings in ml (as opposed to the typical markings for insulin injections). According to the website, the benefits of the syringe are:

Reducing the risk of accidental sharing; reinforcing the importance of having your own equipment, and not sharing; making the issue of sharing explicit with every syringe; and promoting strategies to prevent accidental sharing.

Plus the visuals are rather striking as well with the colored syringe. Exchange Supplies is a UK based company, unfortunately I am not sure if their products are available for folks in the US
