In honor of Julia Child’s Birthday

In honor of her birthday we are going to post 1 or 2 food and/or cooking related posts today.
The first is a site I came across recently, Cheap Ass Food, on their “About Us” page they have a pretty noble mission:
This site is for anyone who loves food and doesn’t give a shit about being proper. CheapAssFood.com friends are not your typical four star food tasters, our main goal is to support mom & pop shops. Your neighborhood bagel shop, noodle house, burger joint and street vendors…etc, let people know that good food doesn’t have to be Zagat rated. We may not write appropriately at times but we have the guts to say what we want and the tools to do so.
They have a mix of mini-restaurant reviews and recipes, the key that ties it all together, is,more often then not, the price tag. You probably have never heard of most of these places but passed them while walking the streets without even noticing, well, these folks have taken the time to go in and review them. Better yet, if you have popped in and tasted the delights of the restaurant (or hole in the wall eatery) feel free to write a review yourself. Created a new recipe? Publish that as well (in fact it doesn’t even ened to be a new recipe, the most recent one appears to be for Ice Coffee).
Just a fun little food site with a sense of humor for you to tool around on and maybe even contribute to.
