TV Stand

Have you ever noticed when you buy something like a television it has a ton of extra packaging, a bunch of oddly shaped styrofoam pieces that never quite fit back in the same way and just end up in the trash.

Well one designer has tackled this problem, designing packaging for flat screen televisions that can double as a television stand once the tv is unpacked and you assemble it together.

Tom Bellhatchet has designed packaging for a flat screen television, that, once the television is unpacked from the polypropylene packaging you can then snap the packaging together for a television stand with two shelves, for a cable box or DVD player. This packaging also has a ‘green’ angle to it as well. Instead of tossing the packaging the television comes in it can now be new piece of furniture. Bellhatchet even considered transportation and designed the packaging with wheels so you don’t need to lift the heavy box, once unpacked you can pop off the wheels and reposition them on the bottom of the box so the new TV stand is easily moved. Seems like a great idea. Now all Bellhatchet needs is a deal with a major television distributer.
