Absinthe Makes the Heart Grow Fonder

Why do I feel as if that title has been used before in relation to absinthe (in fact there are over 13,000 Google hits from that quote)? Could I have come up with something more cliche?

Anyway, as most of you probably know Absinthe is a drink that has long been banned in the US (as well as parts or Europe) for its believed psychotropic effects, well, specifically the effects of grande wormwood, one of the main ingredients. According to Wikipedia, this was more of a myth then a reality. The Green Fairies were just from being so drunk off of the 124 proof liquor (and yes, it is a liquor, not a liqueur).

Well, anyway, no Grande Wormwood absinthe has been sold in the US since prohibition, well not until now that is. Lucid Absinthe is now available in the US. They have a site that is well designed and tells you were you can find it in the US (Well, New York at least). Who knows, could make for a fun weekend

As with Anna Karina, we prefer to remember the U.S.A as she was in the 1960s.
